Netflix plan features

Netflix allows you to create independent profiles for each user for a personalised experience. You can have up to five profiles within a single Netflix account irrespective of the package/ plan you chose. While Netflix allows users to share their passwords with others, the streaming giant is testing a new feature that will charge a fee to its subscribers who share their accounts with people outside their homes. The feature will be tested in Chile, Costa Rica, and Peru over the next few weeks, before expanding to other regions.

Per Netflix, those on Standard and Premium plans will be able to add up to two new sub-accounts for people they don’t live with – each with their own profile, personalised recommendations, login and password. For every additional member, the subscriber will be charged.

FAQs

All your queries regarding Netflix monthly and yearly subscription answered here:

1. Does Netflix offer free trial?

Netflix doesn’t offer a free trial to new users anymore, even though that was the case earlier. You will need to pay the price of the subscription in order to check out the catalogue and the experience. Of course, you will also need to share your banking details to avail the free trial. Since this makes the first-time usage a subscription plan and not a free trial, you can choose to cancel the subscription within the first month if you do not enjoy the content.

2. What is Netflix free upgrade offer?

Netflix is also offering a free upgrade offer to first-time subscribers in India. Under this plan, all new subscribers are upgraded to a higher-tier plan for free for the first 30 days. After 30 days, the subscription is reverted to the original plan if the customer doesn’t change their plan. For example, if you subscribe to the “Standard” plan that costs Rs 499/month, you will automatically receive the benefits of the “Premium” plan that costs Rs 649 for the first 30 days. Netflix does this to let their user experience the benefits of its higher-tier offerings and entice them to upgrade after the free period ends.
