Redmi 12 5G is scheduled to launch in India on August 1st alongside the Xiaomi TV X series. The company has been actively teasing the budget phone on social media handles and the specifications are already out considering the phone debuted last month. Now, while we wait for the launch event, noted tipster Abishek Yadav revealed the Redmi 12 5G’s India price and storage options. He also posted hands-on live images of the phone.
Redmi 12 5G price in India (expected)
- Redmi 12 5G will be available in two models: 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB.
- According to a tweet by Abhishek Yadav, the base variant will be priced at Rs 9,999 (which he can confirm), while the top-end model is tipped to cost Rs 13,999.
Hands-on images show the design
Abhishek also posted live images of the phone, which show the front and back design of the phone. The handset has a centre-positioned punch-hole cutout for the selfie shooter and a sizeable chin below the screen. The volume rocker and power button are probably on the right edge.
Flipping the phone to the back, you see triple cameras and an LED flash. The phone has a unique gradient design.

- Display: The Redmi 12 5G is said to sport a 6.79-inch FHD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate, 1080 X 2400 pixels resolution, and a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera.
- Processor: The upcoming Redmi phone will be powered by the MediaTek Helio G88 12nm processor paired with Mali-G52 2EEMC2 GPU.
- RAM and Storage: The handset is tipped to come with 4GB/8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB/256GB internal storage that is further expandable via a microSD card.
- OS: The Redmi 12 should run on Android 13-based MIUI 14 skin out of the box.
- Cameras: The handset is expected to feature a 50MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro sensor. There is an 8MP shooter on the front for selfies and video chats.
- Battery: The handset may house a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.
- Connectivity: Connectivity options will include 5G support, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a USB Type-C port.
