Hyundai has been testing the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV extensively and now some recent spy shots reveal updates to the interiors of the electric SUV. The new Hyundai Creta EV is likely to be based on the facelifted model which will debut early next year. The upcoming electric SUV is expected to deliver around 500km of range from an onboard 60kWh battery pack. The Hyundai Creta EV is expected to be priced at around Rs 15 lakh to Rs 25 lakh range.
Hyundai Creta EV could get a new instrument cluster and gear selector
In recent spy shots of the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV, one can find an interior similar to the outgoing ICE-powered Hyundai Creta. The dashboard gets a dual-tone treatment, a driver-oriented centre infotainment system, automatic HVAC controls, a flowing centre console and a multi-spoke steering wheel with controls for the MID and music system.
However, a closer look at the images reveals that the centre console is devoid of a gear selector. The gear selector has now been relocated to the right side of the steering column much like the one found on the more expensive Hyundai IONIQ 5. This could free up usable space on the centre console. The HVAC controls on this Creta EV prototype also seem to be chunkier with larger rotary controls as well as aeroplane-like toggle switches. Lastly, the instrument cluster for the driver has been updated and the one that can be seen in the spy shot resembles the digital MID on the Hyundai Kona Electric. This cluster gets smaller part screens that display information and is not the full-screen MID that’s found on the Hyundai Alcazar or the Hyundai Tucson.
The Hyundai Creta EV is expected to go into production in late 2024 and will eventually be launched in 2025. Autocar India sources also confirm that despite the prototype being based on the outgoing model, the EV will be based on the facelifted model which will be launched soon.
