It’s been a busy start to July but there’s a lot more to come. This week, we saw the launch of one of the most anticipated smartphones, the Nothing Phone (2). Instagram Threads blew up to cross 145 million users in just five days of its launch. OPPO also launched its popular Reno 10 series in India, while Samsung brought the Snapdragon 888-powered Galaxy S21 FE here. We also got some interesting news on the comeback of a once-popular Chinese smartphone in India.

Nothing Phone (2) India launch
Nothing finally debuted the Phone (2) earlier this week. It starts at Rs 44,999 for the base model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, and goes up to Rs 54,999 for the top-end model. Nothing Phone (2) comes with a redesigned Glyph Interface, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, and an OLED 120Hz display. You also get dual 50MP rear cameras, a 32MP front camera and a 4,700mAh battery with the Nothing Phone (2).
Instagram Threads crosses 145 million users
Instagram Threads is one of the most popular apps right now. It launched as a competitor to Twitter, and has since taken the internet by storm. Instagram Threads now has over 145 million users signed up on the app. When it launched last week, Threads passed two million users in the first two hours, and 10 million in seven hours. The app also crossed 50 million user signups in the first day itself. Threads works just like Twitter with a similar UI and features, and it also syncs with your Instagram account.
OPPO Reno 10 series India launch
OPPO launched the Reno 10, Reno 10 Pro and Reno 10 Pro+ smartphones in India. The Reno 10 price will be revealed on July 20th. But as for the Reno 10 Pro and Reno 10 Pro+, these phones are priced at Rs 39,999 and Rs 54,999, respectively. The new OPPO smartphones come with AMOLED 120Hz curved displays, up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. The Reno 10 Pro+ which is the top-end variant offers up to 100W fast charging support.
Samsung Galaxy S21 FE Snapdragon 888 model
Samsung launched the Snapdragon 888-powered Galaxy S21 FE in India. Samsung Galaxy S21 FE originally debuted with an Exynos 2100 processor in India, while the Snapdragon variant was launched in other countries. The smartphone comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage, and it is priced at Rs 49,999. It has five colour options of Navy, Olive, Graphite, Lavender, and White. Other than the chipset, rest of the specifications remain the same for the Galaxy S21 FE.
Honor India comeback
Honor halted its new product launches in India after US sanctions on Huawei barred the company from accessing Google services. The then-Huawei sub-brand is now under a different Chinese company, and will reportedly get back in the Indian smartphone market. The new Honor brand is also said to be headed by ex-Realme India head, Madhav Sheth. It is also speculated that the new Honor launch will take place as early as August.
