July has been busy with new devices, and details about upcoming launches. That’s still going on but we’ve also come across some non-gadget news like Netflix bringing its password-sharing crackdown to India. This will definitely be bad news to a lot of Netflix users in India. The rest was mostly gadget-related with leaks suggesting the OnePlus 12 launch timeline, and teasers for Nothing Phone (2)-inspired smartphones. Realme also launched a new budget tablet in India this week.
Let’s take a look at all of these one by one.
Netflix stops password sharing in India
Netflix password sharing days are over in India as the streaming service has begun its crackdown in the country. It will now make sure that multiple people cannot access the same Netflix account by creating a ‘Household’ account. Only members of the same household will be able to access Netflix, and anyone else will have to pay extra for it. You can find all the details here.
OnePlus 12 launch timeline tipped
OnePlus 12 is slated to be the company’s next flagship smartphone. There have been multiple leaks in the past few days about the OnePlus 12. According to the latest leak, OnePlus 12 will reportedly debut in December in China, and globally in February 2024. The leak also reveals the full spec sheet of the smartphone.
Realme Pad 2 India launch
Realme Pad 2 is official in India, and it has a starting price of Rs 19,999 for the base model. It has an 11.5-inch 120Hz display, up to 8GB of RAM and an 8MP camera on the front and back. The tablet is powered by the MediaTek Helio G99 processor, and it runs Android 13-based Realme UI. You can get the tablet in Grey and Green colours.
Upcoming Tecno phone with LED lights
It looks like Nothing is inspiring smartphone brands as LED lights on smartphone are now in fashion. Tecno has teased the POVA 5 Pro that will feature colourful LED lights at the back. Although a similar concept, it doesn’t look the same as the Nothing Phone (2). Tecno is calling this the ‘Arc’ interface on the POVA 5 Pro. In terms of specifications, the Tecno POVA 5 Pro is expected to come with a 7,000mAh battery and 68W fast charging support.
Another Nothing Phone (2)-lookalike
There’s another upcoming phone that has been inspired by the Nothing Phone (2), and this one looks like a successful first copy. It’s the Infinix GT series that has a rear panel design just like the Nothing Phone (2) along with LED lights like the Glyph Interface. The LEDs are going to be interactive as they will light up when launching games, and more. Infinix is expected to launch two phones from the series — the GT 10 Pro and GT 10 Pro+.
