iPhone 15 series release is just around the corner and a new rumour suggests Apple could launch the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus in a light Green colour option. If you recall, the iPhone 12 and the now discontinued iPhone 12 Mini also came in a light Green hue but this new iPhone 15 light Green edition could be slightly different from that rendition.
iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus light green colour
The claim comes from tipster @MajinBuOfficial who says this colour could be similar to the one we had on the iPhone 12. He also shares a picture of this Green-coloured iPhone 15 mockup piece.
Another tipster @URedditor also agrees to this claim with a Yes response to Mr. Bu’s tweet.
Mr Bu, however, adds that he isn’t sure if the Green edition will be available at the time of launch and could be one of the typical special edition iPhone spring releases. So, it could even come out next year.
For example, iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus received a Yellow edition in March of this year. They had the same set of specifications and features as their regular counterparts.
So, that could be the case for the iPhone 15 phones too. Now, this isn’t the first time we are seeing new coloured iPhone refreshes.
Special edition iPhone colours
- iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus in a bright lemony Yellow colour. You could pick the silicone case in a Canary Yellow colour to match the aesthetic.
- iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro came in Alpine Green colour. While announcing this, Bob Borchers, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing said, “These new colours give customers even more options when choosing their iPhone”.
- iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini in Purple colour. This was the first time the company introduced a special edition colour which had no cause behind it.
- iPhone Product Red: Almost all recent iPhones are released in a Product Red colour too and the proceeds from this sale go to The Global Fund’s fight against AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria and COVID‑19.
Let’s see if the iPhone 15 special edition colour is in fact light green or if it is one of the colourways available at launch.
