As per Apple’s support document titled, “Charge and connect with the USB-C connector on your iPhone 15,” we know the following things:
- Power Delivery (PD): As long as the USB-C cable supports the USB-PD standard, you can use it to charge the iPhone.
- Pro data speeds: iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max feature USB 3.2 Gen 2 standard which means you could get up to 10Gbps speeds.
- Charge Apple accessories: You can charge Apple accessories like AirPods and Apple Watch at up to 4.5 watts by connecting them to iPhone 15 models.
- Connect external speakers: You can play sound from the iPhone 15 series on a bigger speaker. You just have to connect both using an Apple USB-C to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter and an Apple USB-C to Lightning Adapter.
- Connect external displays: iPhone 15 models support connection to external displays with USB-C ports as well as HDMI ports. The video can be of SDR or HDR type (Dolby Vision, HDR10) at 4K resolution and 60Hz refresh rate. For connecting to USB-C Displays, you will need a USB 3.1 or higher cable and for connecting to HDMI Displays or TVs, you will require cables and adapters supporting HDMI 2.0 output.
