iQOO could be working on its 2023 flagships and we expect two phones at launch, namely iQOO 12 and iQOO 12 Pro. We have been hearing rumours about the iQOO 12 lineup for some time now like 200W fast charging support, periscope camera, and more. The latest scoop suggests a 144Hz AMOLED screen, among other features.
iQOO 12 series specifications (expected)
We suppose the two phones could be sharing some specs but mostly the tipped specifications belong to the Pro variant. It’s worth noting that the iQOO 11 series did not feature a ‘Pro’ variant but there was an iQOO 11s, which launched in July this year.
- Display: As per tipster DigitalChatStation, iQOO 12 Pro could come with a Samsung E7 AMOLED panel with 2K resolution and 144Hz refresh rate. The resolution and refresh rate remain the same as the iQOO 11, but that device used an E6 panel.
- Camera: The setup is once again said to include an Omnvision OV64B 64MP periscope telephoto zoom lens. The primary camera, meanwhile, is likely an Omnivision OV50H 50MP sensor and there could also be a 50MP ultrawide shooter in the mix. iQOO could stow in Vivo’s V3 image signal processing unit. There’s a resolution upgrade from both the iQOO 11 and 11s, which had 50MP primary cameras.
- Processor: The high-end phone is expected to be running on the upcoming Qualcomm flagship, i.e., Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, the successor to iQOO 11 and 11s’ Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Qualcomm’s latest and yet unannounced chipset will have 1x Cortex-X4 prime core, 5x Cortex-A720 performance cores, and 2x Cortex-A520 efficiency cores.
- Battery: iQOO could power the Pro model with a 5,000mAh battery and equip it with a 200-watt charging capability, which has been tipped earlier. The regular variant could sport 100W charging. The iQOO 11 came with 120W Flash Charge, but the iQOO 11s also featured 200W fast charging.
- Software: In its home market, iQOO 12 phones could be shipping with Android 13-based Origin OS 4.0 while it could be FunTouchOS for the Indian market.
- Memory: iQOO 12 Pro could support up to 24GB RAM and 1TB storage, a huge upgrade from the humble 256GB in the iQOO 11 but on par with 11s.
This time Qualcomm is rumoured to announce its flagship chip by the end of October 2023. So, the iQOO 12 series launch could follow the chip’s announcement. This means we don’t wait for too long to learn about the complete iQOO 12 series specifications and other details.
